Wang Changsong is a research fellow in the College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University. He obtained his PhD in Historical Geography from Peking University and was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley and Merced. He is a member of the Historical Geography Committee of the Geographical Society of China, a member of the Visualization and Visual Analysis Committee of the Image and Graphics Society of China, and a member of the Youth Committee of the Watershed Spatial Planning Branch of the Urban Planning Society of China. His research fields mainly focus on urban historical geography in river basin, urban historical social space and cultural heritage management. Dr. Wang has presided over some scientific research projects, such as sub-project under the Major Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China, the National Social Science Fund of China, Humanities and Social Foundation of the Ministry of Education of China, and key projects of Beijing Municipal Social Science Foundation. He has published more than 50 relevant papers, 2 monographs and 1 textbook. In this workshop, he will teach the application of spatial analysis methods to historical urban space.
